Lacura Midnight Power Cream Range

Every now and then you find a great product that you aren’t looking for, and you then have the need to rush back to stock up on them in case they sell out. Well, here are two great Lacura products; Midnight Power Cream and Eye Care that amazingly only cost £3.99 each. You can be forgiven for thinking that they maybe basic based on the price, but out of all the Lacura products I have tried these are the best. They are available in Aldi supermarkets in purple boxes, and housed in purple glass jars and are excellent value, quite simply because the products work!

I don’t give out many 5 star ratings but I cannot find fault with this product at all. It does what is says, the price is low, the quality and texture is comparable if not better than many premium brands. Everyone should be using an eye gel to protect the eye area, especially if you use a lot of eye makeup. Constant rubbing leads to lines and that’s when an eye mask can help nourish the delicate skin around the area.

The eye gel is supposed to be used at night only, but is light enough to be used during the day. To use it at night apply a little more generously as an eye mask and allow the gel to absorb in the skin by patting it around the eye area. It contains lavender, which is soothing, and unlike some eye gels isn’t sticky or feels dry after application, and doesn’t leave a residue but a light moisture film that helps to maintain the hydration levels around the fragile eye area.

It comes in a 15 ml glass jar and is excellent value for those who want to prevent fine lines (the first signs of ageing) around the eyes, or have tired eyes and want an eye mask to help smooth any signs of fatigue. As it’s suitable for all skin types and ages, you can’t go wrong with this product. Finding a well priced eye gel that works is not easy, so if you see this in your Aldi store buy it—you won’t regret it.

Lacura Midnight Power Cream

With the recent trend in sleep creams and overnight masks, this product does both jobs plus can be used as a massage cream. Priced at £3.99 for a 50 ml jar, I’ve only been reluctant to review this in case it sold out before I managed to stock up.

This is ideal to use as a sleep cream, or an overnight mask mixed with a few drops of rosehip oil or serum. It has a gentle and calming smell, and the texture is light even though the cream is rich. Once applied, it absorbs easily into the skin and leaves a fine moisturizing film. I would use about a 10 pence amount as a mask to cover the face and neck as the product is quite concentrated. As soon as you apply this, the skin feels as if it has a lift, and instantly it makes the skin look smoother. In the morning you will see and feel the difference. Among the ingredients are shea butter (one of my favorite ingredients) lavender extract, Vitamin C, and jojoba oil which nourish, hydrate, and protect the skin.

I’ve used various overnight masks and sleep creams, and this cannot be beaten for value based on its performance. It’s versatile and you can see and feel the difference  after using it just once.

*The products were sold out online at the time of writing, but are still available in some stores as a special buy. If you miss it this time around, they usually release another batch around Easter, so look out for them because these products are so simple to use, cost less than £10 for both, and you can see and feel results immediately. These are my hidden gems, and they also make wonderful gifts.
