The First Christmas Beauty Advent Calendars Hit The Shelves

The arrival of October also sees the launch of the limited edition Christmas Advent Calendars from beauty companies. These offer a selection of  24 special sized products at a fraction of the retail price, and are wonderful as a gift, or to break them up as stocking fillers. The competition is rife, as companies persuade you to buy now while stocks last. Here are a few that are currently available, with a few highlights in them:

You Beauty Box Advent Calendar is priced at £69.95 (plus £4.95 postage which is free for subscribers). The retail value is worth £270 and early birds can get £10 off using the code GET10AC. My favorites include: ESPA Overnight Hydration Therapy 15 ml, NUXE  Shower Oil Prodigieux® 30 ml, and MALIN+GOETZ  Vitamin E Face Moisturiser 40 ml, which is one of my new favorites. Other brands include Carmex, Oskia, Rodial, Charles Worthington, and Bee Good. If you are get regular boxes from You Beauty and Latest in Beauty, some of the items will be familiar, so while it’s good value most products aren’t new.

The L’Occitane Advent Calendar costs £42, with products that retail over £80. With an assortment of creams, body lotions and shower gels, these make ideal stocking fillers, or are great if you travel frequently. A few of my favorites include: Ultra Rich Face Cream 10 ml, Shea Butter Hand Cream 10 ml, Shea Butter Gentle Toner 30 ml, and Immortelle Essential Water 30 ml. This will sell out fast, and postage if free if you order online.

The Body Shop has no less than three advent calendars to choose from to suit all budgets ~ one priced at £60 (worth £106), the deluxe at £80 (worth £127.50), and the ultimate at £99 (worth £187). Each contains a selection of accessories, face care, body products, and make-up items including the ever popular Vitamin E Moisture Cream (15 ml) and one of the renowned body butters.

Over the next few weeks, more companies will unveil their offerings and some even allow you to pre-order them. Personally, I would wait and see what there is as customers are spoilt for choice these days.
