Review: Kanebo Sensai Silk Peeling Mask

I’ve always had a keen interest in skincare products, maybe because I’ve always had problem skin. I started having bad skin in my early teens, and it took what felt like forever to tackle and bring it under control, where I felt my skin was anywhere near decent. As I’ve got older, I’ve become even more interested in skincare products. I know you shouldn’t always believe the best products are the most expensive, but one of the products I swear by is Kanebo Sensai Silk Peeling Mask. Ever since I started using it, it has become a firm staple in my beauty regime arsenal. Kanebo, is a Japanese company that was established in 1887, and uses silk as a natural moisturing ingredient in all its products, and is renowned for their cutting edge skincare ranges.

What Is Kanebo Sensai Silk Peeling Mask?

A creamy exfoliator with a silk scrub that cleanses the pores and removes dead skin cells for a supple finish. It contains Koishimaru Silk, which has exceptional moisturizing properties, and is suitable for all skin types.

How Do You Use It

Apply 1-3 times a week, mornings and/or evenings, concentrating on problem areas, after cleansing, and rinse well. Use a sponge chief for optimum care as it won’t scratch or pull the skin.

* Be careful how long you leave it on for, because it has active ingredients, it can irritate the skin if left on for too long.

My Thoughts On The Peel

Being plagued by spots and blackheads over the years, this mask has really been a huge help. Because it’s a little pricey, I don’t use it as often as I’d like to. Once you have got your skincare regime finely tuned, you can it once a week to maintain the skin. If you’ve been ill or rundown, it’s a quick and great way to rejuvenate the skin by using it at least twice a week.

It goes on easily, and at the end, I’m rewarded with smooth, glowing skin. It sloughs off dead skin cells, and creates a smooth base for my make up to sit on flawlessly. I also noticed that after using it, my pores appear smaller in size! It’s also very gentle, and ideal for me as I can’t use scrubs, which I find can be too harsh on my hyper-pigmentation prone skin. I feel that if used alongside other products in this range, this mask would be even better (if that’s possible). The synergy effect does work, because it allows all the products to work more effectively together.

In conclusion, I would give Kanebo Sensai Silk Peeling Mask a 5 out of 5 star rating.  I strongly believe it’s a excellent product, and would recommend it to anybody who has problems with breakouts and/or blocked pores. It’s also ideal for those with sensitive skin and who have been put off by masks or exfoliators in the past. It retails at £55.00 for 75ml (3.1oz), and can last 6-9 months, depending on how often you use it.
