Omorovicza Cleansing Foam

f you haven’t heard of Omorovicza, it’s a relatively new Hungarian premium brand skincare house that has quickly become renowned for it’s innovative and luxurious products. You can often tell how good a skincare house is by their cleanser, and the Omorovicza Cleansing Foam is a one of the most divine cleansing foams I’ve ever used, and I’ve tried close to at least a hundred cleansing foams in my life so far.

The brand was launched in Budapest, Hungary in 2006, where the products are formulated using the healing properties of the local thermal waters. Combined with the Healing Concentrate™ and other active ingredients, the company has gone from strength to strength with a portfolio of impressive products. There are at present four collections; Hydro Mineral, Moor Mud, Gold, and Blue Diamond. The company is named after the ancestral family of the founders, Stephen and Margaret de Heinrich de Omorovicza, whose family ran the Racz Spa in Budapest in the 19th century. The philosophy behind the brand is to create products that are as natural as possible, encapsulating the healing properties of the active thermal spa waters from Hungary.

Rating and verdict

The foaming cleanser is from the Hydro Mineral Collection and I can’t fault it at all. I rarely give 5/5 as a product has to really impress me and go beyond what is expected of it. The light blue cleanser has a subtle and fresh fragrance that smells so relaxing, and is concentrated so you only need a petit pois sized amount. Simply use warm water to create a generous foam without having to do too much lathering. The foam glides over the face and rinses off to leave the skin clean and soft just as a cleanser ought to. It doesn’t leave the skin feeling tight, and is also vegan and sulphate free, which makes it ideal for those looking for eco-friendly beauty products.

I’ve found using the cleanser such a pleasure, and is a daily small luxury; when I cleanse as I don’t have to work hard to create a lather, and I can trust the product to do what it says on the tube.

Currently, the cleansing foam is available in a 150 ml/5.1 fl oz tube priced at £49/$80 or a 30 ml/1 fl oz travel size tube, priced at £12/$16 and can be bought online directly from from stores such as SpaceNK, Selfridges, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, or Sephora. Omorovicza also has spas located in selected hotels and stores around the world where they offer their own bespoke facials and massages, as well as the flagship spa in Budapest.

Buying directly from Omorovicza has a few advantages, including three free samples with each order, free shipping, and also allows you to join their loyalty scheme called Pengo Rewards, where you earn a point for each £10 spent, and each Pengo is worth £1 off your subsequent purchase.

From an ethical viewpoint the company also offer products suitable for vegetarians and vegans ,and none of the products contain:

  • Parabens
  • Silicones
  • Petrochemicals
  • Sodium Laureth Sulfates
  • Synthetic fragrances
  • Synthetic colors
